The fines in the ore are extremely unfavorable for heap leaching. When the heap is built, the particle size will be skewed, and the fine ore will move with the liquid flow during infiltration, which is easy to produce channeling phenomenon, so that the leaching agent cannot infiltrate the ore heap evenly. When the sludge in the ore contains high egg content, the atmosphere solution cannot infiltrate the ore heap, so that the heap leaching cannot be carried out.

In order to carry out heap leaching of fine ore and cat soil ore, the United States Bureau of Mines developed the powder ore pelletizing heap leaching technology in 1978, which promoted the development of the heap leaching technology for fine ore and cat soil ore. At present, this technology is widely used in gold mines in other countries in the world in addition to the related gold mines in the United States.
