Electnickel-iron
Electrolytic nickel is nickel produced using the electrolysis method (electrolysis in a nickel sulfate solution). Roast the enriched sulfide ore into oxides, reduce it to crude nickel with carbon, and then obtain pure metallic nickel through electrolysis.

APPLICATION

There are two main processes of nickel-iron production: fire process and wet process. The nickel sulfide ore is mainly treated by fire method, and the metal nickel is obtained by electrolysis from the copper nickel sulfur smelting nickel concentrate by roasting the concentrate in the reflex furnace (electric furnace or blast furnace). The oxidized ore is mainly nickel laterite ore with low grade, which is suitable for wet treatment. The main methods are ammonia leaching method and sulfuric acid method. The fire treatment of oxidized ore is the nickel-iron process.

Iron nickel production process fire smelting iron nickel is under high temperature conditions, C as a reducing agent, NIO in oxide ore, and other oxides (Fe2O3) reduction, the reaction generated NI, and Fe miscible to form iron nickel. Fire smelting in China mainly includes: traditional blast furnace production methods, and the latest RKEF(rotary kiln + ore heat furnace) production process.

Nickel is also used for nickel plating, covering steel and other metal substrates with a durable, corrosion-resistant surface layer, which is 20% to 25% more corrosion-resistant than galvanized.

Nickel composites can be used as catalysts for hydrogenation and methane synthesis in petrochemical industry, and their advantages are not easy to be poisoned by H2S and S02.

Nickel compounds are used to make pigments and dyes. Nickel can also be made into new ceramics such as nickel ferrite and nickel zinc ferrin, as the core of transformers and radio antennas.
